 Scuba divers, listen up July 28, 2010

I bought this in hopes of using it for an upcoming scuba dive trip with mixed results. As others have said, make sure the gasket is clean and free of hair and sand before shutting the case. This worked great at shallow depths with very clear videos and even decent sound. However, at somewhere around 10 feet deep and deeper, the water pressure was too great and the camera would either zoom by itself or all of the buttons would just not work except the power button. This is probably because they were all being pressed at the same time by the water pressure.
That being said, inspired by another reviewer, I was able to take it down to depths of 45 feet or so with no leaks, but if it wasn't going to work at 10 feet, it sure didn't at 45 feet. I'm returning it and getting another in the hopes that it will work at least 30 feet deep for me as it did for him.
If you are just using it to snorkel or play in the pool, this case is amazing and a lot of fun. Scuba divers, you won't ruin your camera but you might not get any video either.

After reading the reviews for underwater cases compatible with my UltraHD Flip camera, I thought this would be a great purchase so I could film my daughter having fun with various water activities. I recorded outside of the water but the quality is poor because the case fogged up and the speakers are covered so the sound quality becomes poor. I decided to test the camera underwater by taking film of my daughter blowing bubbles. Turns out, just putting the encased camera below surface level will spring leaks! I gave 2 stars because in theory, I like to think that at the very least, this case will provide some sort of protection from drops. But I am highly disappointed and would never recommend this product.
U/W housing interferes with Flip use for shallow scuba dive below 6 ft. July 25, 2010

This housing is rated at 35 ft depth, however, the housing compresses below about 6 ft and presses all the buttons simultaneously. This has been reported in several other reviews and I concur. With all the buttons pressed simultaneously, the best you can do is start recording and submerge, because you lose all control of the Flip. Other than that, it is a very good product for shallow snorkelling and pool use. I would give it 5 stars for that use.

I was leary of purchasing this product but fears aside it worked great on our vacation. I had bought the wrong flip camera for this case and instead of returning the case I returned the camera and bought the correct model. We are a water loving family and took the camera and case on a fishing vacation in Missouri. Performed great. Can't wait to take it surfing in HB, CAlifornia.

My 10 year old daughter, Sawyer, purchased this underwater case for her Flip Ultra with her birthday money.She has been swimming all summer long, and this has been with her everytime.The durability and ease of using this gadget for your Flip is great!!It has definitely provided us with great footage of all our pool and beach activities, which otherwise would have been missed because the fear of getting other video cameras wet, no worries here. My daughter is thrilled with her investment!!!Sawyer is glad she saved money as well with Amazon vs. other sites!!!
