The large, 2.5-inch 230,000 pixel LCD monitor makes it a pleasure to review images and scroll through menus. The Live View feature allows you to frame shots using the LCD screen rather than the viewfinder. Canon's Integrated Self Cleaning System removes dust automatically from the sensor using ultrasonic vibration.

I got it for her for Christmas in 08. She has been using it for just about everything. It is a little bulky for day to day stuff, but that is to be expected.
This is her first DSLR (or SLR for that matter) so she is just getting into photography. I bought her a book with it, and she is really getting the hang of it. It is easy enough to use that you can hand it off to someone and have them take a picture after you do the settings.
It does exactly what I was looking for without being intimidating.

Still learning about all the features. Only had it a couple of weeks. So far so good. Memory card holds over 800 pictures. You have to aim and shoot. It does not allow you to take pictures from display screen. Battery life lasted for our entire Grand Canyon trip which was over a week.

The package is good for the price you pay. The camera speaks for itself, however the case is very low, and poorly designed. The usb adapter is something practcally useless nowadays. It is a good package for the price you pay.
